desert spectrum shift colour abstract contemporary painting

459  Desert spectrum shift  (landscape format)

36x48in / 91x122cm, acrylic on canvas, self-framed
Artist's collection

Abstract painting inspired by the unique colours of the Australian desert: burnt oranges,
sandy yellows, faded driftwood and Spinifex greens.   A study in the relationships of such
special colours; harmonies, contrasts, counterpoints and accents.

At the same time the composition is relying on a pleasing subdivision of the
rectangular area and resulting in a lively pattern with a musical rhythm.

Structured yet random, thoughtful yet intuitive, intellectual yet accidental.
